Corps of a fool

sorenbarrett

A parched, desolate, desiccated desert

amid winding gorges, cliffs of reserve

dark clouds of passion, an unheeded alert

A pending flash flood of what desires deserve

Desperation's white water rapids of tears

erode a stone sky, bedrock of my will

Tangled in coils of barbwire fears,

submerged below debris, thorn crowned lungs fill

Rotting flames of hope extinguished,

now soggy ashes, exhausted limbs cool

Under the spark of desire relinquished

lies the amour drown corps of a fool

Desperation's white water rapids of tears
