Losing Sleep

Zarnold_Lamore

How can someone ever go to sleep

With feelings that run true & deep

Feelings that I still hold & keep

Feelings that will make weep.

Harvesting the somberness

From the empty fields of sorrow

Gathering nothing from

What has been reaped

Finding comfort on top of a brick of hay

As I lay here trying hard to sleep

The creaking of a wooden paneled door

Keeps me away from what I seek

The creaking creeping in my ears

Like crickets that sing each other to sleep

I cannot sleep with these feelings I keep

A perfect dream forever mines to keep

I fall asleep
