Patterns of devotion

Magdalini Zonnios

It's something like

A mutual curiosity

Attention that waxes...

and wanes

But still, a profound affection

An undeniable connection

And "you remind me of summer"

And of a never ending pit of sharp edges

Orbiting each other again

Not too close!

Not too far!

Refreshing

Like a cool breeze

Like a glass of murky water

Ah, so safe!

Like a woollen blanket

Like a woollen eye mask

Waiting, giving, forgiving

All without expectations?

A dangerous vulnerability

Unspoken, unmet needs

But still so precious

Still so clean

Going through the same cataclysmic motion

Caught up in these same patterns of devotion
