Waves

My love for you and the subsequent ache comes in waves

I could be lying on my bed, watching YouTube

When a wave washes over me

Making me feel all sorts of sadness

 

Or I could be hanging up washing, listening to my favourite song

Making me almost sob my heart out

But I don't

 

These waves try to drown me each time one comes

But each time I somehow manage to surface

Although I struggle more and more each time

I still manage to reach the air above it all
