Poetess: that most profound, Lioness

L. B. Mek

Notice of absence from L. B. Mek
'fare ye well' kind friends

“In the kind of whisper that wouldn’t fog glass”

I quote poetic heights, I can never attain

Her acute poetic genius, blanketing my entirety

I too know of selfhood’s unreliable testimony

Only daring to sneak a glimpse

When finding a mirror in my peripheral vision

My smiles come with appointment cards

My happiness often delayed at the gates

Security checks

By my window a rainfall stampede, has me at peace

Looking up at a stainless summer sky, has me uneasy

I trust, belatedly

Yet, within her poetry’s vivid imagery

All possibility suddenly feels palpably, connate

I’m in a love with the eloquence of her veracity

Eyebrows as my fingertips

Each syllable I read, as if a worded silk caress

Unveiling my hidden parts

My stoic tendencies, surrendering willingly

Enticed by her vulnerability’s sincerity

Her art igniting a need in me, to appreciate

Reading is too mundane a word

This intuit chemistry is more accurately

A communion, Poesy as conduit

Two strangers pulsing at a wavelength

So undeniably n subtly attuned

It feels like in a past life I must have been

Crimson ink

To her artistry’s lava brush strokes, what a

Sensation

A serendipitous gift, affording me vitality

Then breathless with unbridled anticipation

I’m immersed within her poetry’s waterfall

Once again

“In the kind of whisper that wouldn’t fog glass”
What an opening line! It sets the tone.
The entire third stanza is replete with poetic images.
              "Eyebrows as my fingertips"
              another great line.
              "her artistry’s lava brush strokes"
I feel bathed in a plethora of wonderful poetic images.

                  how morosely true
such a stain upon our species annals
repeated and perpetuated by every generation
                  we're so pathetic
(still, we can but dream that Luther's dream
                  will be realised:

the difficulties of today and tomorrow,
                  I still have a dream.

I read this a few times! Each time evoked something different.

First read (before listening to the video) reminded me of something I was writing on not long ago; what it would be like to be someone's muse and not know it. And likewise to have a cherished muse that unknowingly and yet seamlessly provides inspiration for masterpieces.

Listening to the video and re-reading is humbling. Makes you really think of the self-importance and bigness carried by some when we're but a speck in the cosmos with no more importance than a fly.
..'What if you are just boring'.. is that not a goal? ha

Lastly, the flow of this is sooo smooth.
'as if a worded silk caress'
                  Precisely!
                  like a 'peaceful easy feelin.'

                  Nice work!
                  Thank you for sharing

First I listened to the video, enraptured by her eloquence, and passion. Then I read your poem aloud and found such eloquence and beauty in your words. I was stunned as I so often am by the depth of your heart and soul. How you find the words, and put them together in such an extraordinary way is a gift dear poet. Again, a thousand favs!
