To Whom it May Concern

PaperFlowerFields

It's so great to see

You rise up from the ashes

Spread your wings and fly

Soar over the ruins

You claim to have had no part in

Attempt to make yourself great

Jam a few more into jars

Take them with you

To this heaven you wish to

Create a cloud of revived beliefs

Set in peace of mind

So glad to see you well

Cast aside your demons

Invite others in

And lock others out

Not to pull your halo down

Around your neck

Force you to the ground

Your Majesty

Holier then I

But, I'm really very curious

How you intent to make amends

For the demons you refuse to see

Ones which you created

Within those you left alone

Burning in those ruins below you

While you ignored the smoke and smiled

Ignored each warning given

And can't figure out why

Why are we so distant?

While I fight demons

You can't see...won't see...

Won't acknowledge

So glad to see you

Reborn before us all

Saying, once more, you're changing

Fixing it all, bringing us along

Trying to force and pull

Things to good to be true

Since they aren't

But you follow them blindly anyways

Peddle your beliefs

Ignore the halo slipping

As they convince you it's alright

It's hard not to feel cast aside

When the alarms rang so long

And you chose to do nothing

Verbal warnings from others

Ignored as delusions

While you applauded your favorites

Those who followed your desired

Filled the molds you made

And, far to late, you noticed others

High on your new cloud

Giving new old sermons

Crafting your new halo

Blinding yourself to shadows setting in

Around those you claimed to care for

With your own artificial glow

Pay no mind to those left

So below you, you can't bother to hear

Push and force your choices

Onto those near

Anyone

Claim their best interests

Insist you know what's good

All this, for your new old world

So glad to see you there

Truly, it is

Glorious, as my world burns

And yet, you...

So safe and guiltless

Even if I could make you see

Claim ignorance

And claim innocence

Pay no mind to the shadows

Pay no mind to the devils

Claim care and compassion, still

Show otherwise

With no regard to the smoke

No regard for the alarms

And you wait, smiling

For what?

I can't be bitter

It's been so long

You believe you're innocent

Guiltless

For these demons

Favoring a tone to push away

So I fight alone

You won't enter the fray

Built walls to keep you at bay

A safe distance away

I'm not angry

I'm just tired

You'll always be this way

It's how you're wired

Now I'm stuck

With "It's better then I had"

As though that makes it okay

As though that makes them go away

Leave ashes in your wake

Below your ever growing shadow

The walls that you built...

You'll believe you're guiltless

There's no point in arguing

There's no point to continue

Even when I reach out

Only pointless babble

I'm just so...tired...

Did you ever notice?

Don't bother

I'll go back to sleep

Lay down my head

Ignore the halo round your neck

Like you ignored the rabble

Like you ignored the demons

The shadows

The smoke

The ever raging fires

Keep my head down

Go back to sleep

Pretend it's fine

Step away from the ruins

Watch the feathers fall

Dropping to our level

Poisons fizzling them out

Pay your ramblings no mind

Follow your lead

Just ignore the smoke

And smile
