Sinking into Sadness

Firefall

I think about you day and night

You're always on my mind

Everywhere I look, I see you

But you're gone, to another place and time

I feel a profound sadness

That cuts me like a knife

I miss your smile, your touch, your kiss

You were the light of my life

Sinking into quicksand

With no hope of escape

I'm reaching for your hand

But it's too little too late

I'm being buried alive

In a cold and lonely grave

I don't know how to survive

Without the love you gave

The air is hot and thin

I'm burning up inside

I want to feel your skin

And hold you by my side

Claustrophobic, darkness surrounds

I close my eyes, just for a moment

Dreams of happy memories take over my mind

If I could just stay asleep and leave reality behind
