A pigeon sits

Violet bluebell( used to be yellow rose)

A pigeon sits singing of softness

she sings of cotton clouds

peace in all its calming ways

white with all the doves

freedom with a dove

she sings of cotton clouds

cooing without the falling rain

talking without an inch of grey in her voice

pigeon seems to be talking in white talking of doves

singing of all that lives without the grey tired moods

a voice of soft gentleness

a voice that comforts soothes and leaves us smiling

listen to the pigeon

she’s singing of cotton clouds again

    A fine write V.
I wish little children wouldn't scare them away.
I kept thinking a pigeon was on a roof each morning. But it was an air-conditioning thingy! Doh!

Lol 🙂 birds like roofs . I saw two outside my window about a week ago walking side by side .. honestly think they are lovely birds ..

Yeah I’m not sure why some children do that .. I’ve seen them walking around the pavements in town before .. but it doesn’t always seem like others take much notice of them

        Thanks for the comment

I love the way you have used white to convey the feeling of peace in this poem. So many mornings on my walk I hear the gentle cooing of a mourning dove, so lovely and soft. Once again your imagery is splendid!

We hear woodpigeons every morning when we awake, it is an uplifting sound.
