As Dusk Dawns

Swan

As dusk dawns and things go south,

I trust I’ll live but don’t know how,

I tell myself those golden words,

“I've been through  much worse”

When time is killed but time is scarce,

When love has left unhealed scars,

I tell myself those golden words,

“I've been through  much worse”

When life’s memories, both sweet and bitter,

Torment me and make me cave,

I tell myself those golden words,

“I've been through  much worse”

When all I need is one deep breath,

And one good purpose to live my life,

I trust in God who gave me all,

And who is with me in every rise and fall,

Dusk will dawn only to set,

And the Sun will rise and give me peace,

I tell myself those golden words,

“I've been through  much worse”
