Traitorship in Disguise

Serene

Choosing you as a friend, a choice I now regret;
Time spent together, memories I won't forget.
But what I truly miss is who I used to be,
Lost myself in you, gave you all of me.

You, however, chose to bring me pain,
While I believed you'd forever remain.
But you shattered my teenage world apart,
For the roses I offered, thorns pierced my heart.

I sacrificed my time to be with you,
Yet you left me alone, no sign or clue.
I cared for you more than you cared for yourself,
And you proved, reciprocal of infinite love is zero by itself.

As I've grown and moved on, now I see,
It wasn't my loss, but yours ultimately.
You may not grasp it, now or even tomorrow,
But the day when you get left, you'll feel sorry for my sorrow
