Roses within me wither each day,
they rot and cry and shrivel into ash,
the petals fall silently to my dismay.
You see my reactions eyebrows raised,
you don't see the reason or logic or pain.
Side by side we are nothing alike,
the one who hurt you holds different roses,
our polarity is a great hike.
You see my reactions eyebrows raised,
you don't ask for my reason or logic or pain.
Her roses withered others not her,
they held blood and selfishness and violence,
her thorns stabbing those around her still.
You see my reactions eyebrows raised,
my roses in darkness, my pain swelled.
You see my reactions eyebrows raised,
you judge and blame and hurt and shame.
You see my reactions eyebrows raised,
When the roses within you-
her same thorns they contain.

- Comment from author about the poem: You judged me for actions assuming the reasons behind them without getting to know me. In the end you are more like the person you hate the most, the person you compared me to. And I know you know that too.
