Self-Love

Dhuppar

In the pursuit of love, we often stray,
Seeking it from others, losing our way.
But oh, remember well, as life's story unfolds,
Alone you were born, and alone it shall behold.

Embrace your essence, with love as your guide,
Nurture your spirit, let self-love reside.
For within yourself lies a treasure untold,
A bond, unbreakable, a story yet to unfold.

Be your own compass, in life's tempestuous sea,
A loyal ally, from doubt and fear, be free.
In the depths of your heart, let kindness reside,
Illuminate your path, with self-love as your guide.

Celebrate your existence, in moments small and grand,
For within you, a universe, waiting to expand.
Embrace the solitude, the whispers of your soul,
And in loving yourself, find a love that makes you whole.

  • Comment from author about the poem: The biggest gift someone can give to oneself is Self-Love! I have always found love in someone else but in this process forgot to love myself. It's only when the person whom I used to love the most left me all alone in my difficult times, I got to know the importance of loving & prioritizing myself, which helped me in recovering myself. This poem is a result of that pain & is dedicated to Self-Love, which no one can takes from us. We are our Best-Friends & Worst enemies, & we are born alone & will also die alone, this is the basis of this poem!
