Black Dahlias

malayang.ibon

In this deceitful field, I wander,
Where words, like grasses, softly ponder,
They tingle my truth, pierce my being,
Darling, pray tell, why the lies you're freeing?

This field, adorned with black dahlias' bloom,
Reflections of darkness, love's impending doom,
Was it I, or was it you, who sowed this seed?
Speak truth, my love, is she the one you desperately need?

If she returns to claim your fickle heart,
Mine shall lose its hue, a palette torn apart,
But I pledge to remain steadfast and true,
This heart forever owned, devoted to you.

If fate intertwines our paths once more,
I vow, my darling, transformed to the core,
I'll lace my own shoes, step firm and strong,
Never to tread deceit's field, righting every wrong.
