It Is What It Is

Sometimes in life, we hear a phrase, a simple expression that can leave us in a daze, it is what it is, those words we often say, when faced with situations that don't go our way.

Through moments of joy and moments of strife, we utter these words to make some sense of life, for they remind us that some things we can't change, no matter how hard we try on rearrange. 

When dreams slip through our fingers, like grains of salt, it is what it is, we must understand, for life takes twists and turns we can't foresee, but acceptance is the key to setting ourselves free.

In matters of the heart when love comes and goes, it is what it is, our heart gentle knows, it teaches us that loved can't be forced or tamed.

And sometimes what's meant to be is not what's proclaimed.  

In times of loss and grief when tears fill our eyes,  it is what it is, gives Solange and might, for it reminds us that life has its own flow, and healing takes and rivers gently flow.
