Shadows Don’t Share Secrets
Shadows will never
share
your secrets darling ..
So surely
echo’s won’t tell
your lies ..
But the truth lies out
there
somewhere maybe ..
So pray
where did they all go,
those
people we once knew
and then
with them the cream
of our
years and our dreams ..
I do so fear
they might well have
all been,
somehow shadowed
away ..

Good write N.
A rather gloomy-sounding title to a hymn is 'Buried in shadows of the night'.
thank you S .. you n hymn are indeed an education .. π
That is a serious bit of reflection dear Nev. π
must have been a bad mirror day ................. β€οΈ
Nice!! Shadows may not share secrets, but light will always yank them out! The truth lies out there....and will come back with a vengeance!! And what will happen then? π€
I dont know, I was hoping you might just tell me .. ........................... pretty please ππ
Enlightment! π
and what could possibly be better than that ..π
There is something wonderfully mysterious about shadows. We love playing with them, but they are simply the play of light and dark. They can follow us or lead us, but the shadows of the past are always with us. What an extraordinay, contemplative write dear Nev.
your insight becomes you ma'am .. just can't get any better than that .. many thanks my fine literary friend .. Neville
that turnstile of our life's connections
friendship's going from BFF's
to ghosted, in a day
we couple-up, meet another couple
try and keep it all together
for entertaining group dates
then years later we see them
at the mall and we walk by
because we're too embarrassed to admit
we've forgotten each other's names..
lol
just one more reason
to treasure the people in our lives
in each moment
leave no room for regret, choose
our connections well
then share without restraint, prepared
to be burnt, knowing that's much better
than wishing we could have done different
after the fact, in those memory corridors
of too late
(I so relate Hyung
a great write, thank you!)
Bless you brother M .. N
