Shades of Green and Pink - the oak's revelation

Nethra

In the serene forest where nature’s beauty lays,
There stood an oak tree majestic yet disheartened today.
Its leaves swayed with the gentle breeze,
But its heart was not at ease.
For nearby dwelled a cherry blossom
Petals delicately flowing in the air.
Feeling overshadowed by such grace,
Its leaves seemed less vibrant, its stature misplaced.

Amidst the gentle breeze, a boy wandered,
His heart compassionate and presence sincere.
Sensing the oak’s woe, its inner strife,
He resolved to console the tree's troubled life.
"The cherry blooms briefly, then fade away,
But you stand tall throughout each passing day.
Your branches shelter creatures great and small,
And your wisdom's grown with years that befall."

The boy returned often to the glade,
Spending time with the oak, their bond never to fade.
He shared tales of nature's wonders, far and wide,
Helping the oak see beauty from inside.
And so, they flourished side by side,
The oak and the cherry, both filled with pride.
For in their hearts, they had come to see,
Beauty lies in being who they're meant to be

Dear poet this is extraordinary. I have been an inveterate tree hugger for many years, and this poem touched my heart so. This is beautiful fable that I will long remember, as I walk among the trees.
