Sweet Dreams! (A Bedtime Poem for my Grandson)

Beth K

It’s time to fall asleep, my dear, among the pale moonbeams…
Jump from the stars to fluffy clouds and frolic in your dreams!

You’ll have a sweet adventure all throughout this starry night…
So close your eyes, let your imagination take to flight!

Perhaps you’ll be an astronaut and soar right up to Mars…
Or zoom to Talladega, where you’ll have fun racing cars!

Maybe you’ll go to the ocean and build castles in the sand…
You might run into the Sandman there, and he’ll give you a hand!

You could wind up on safari, ride atop an elephant…
Camp out right there in the jungle, doze off in a cozy tent.

Perhaps you’ll get a visit from a big, ferocious lion…
then you’ll hightail it out of there, and streak up to Orion!

Sink into your soft pillow, yawn, and sleepily surrender…
Know God will keep watch over you, His care so sweet and tender!

Wherever this night takes you, while the twinkling moonlight gleams…
I’ll be right here, awaiting, as you journey in your dreams!

Goodnight, sweet dreams, God bless you, for this trip, no need to pack…
As you travel through the stars, I’ll love you to the moon and back!

Awww, thank you, Neville…this poem was an excerpt from a book I made for 2 of my grandsons (they are brothers who fight sleep like the plague)! I’m so happy you enjoyed it ❤️

I absolutely did .. I became a grandad (grampy) only very recently .. last week in fact and am still buzzing .. I can see me penning a few bedtime stories before too long .. ❤️
