My Everything Was Her Nothing

deadpoetweeps

Dreams suggestive of an amoretto

Alamorted poet found her

Among masqueraders

The passionate pleas of serenaders

Unable to compete the poet is lost.

Her words the first night made no sense

Cerebral epiphanies of her being perfect

Poems with hearstrings I composed

Only to see the impact of itself being disposed

Oblivious victim to her loveless cruelty.

Images of before with a new clarity

Heart breaking they enhance the occurances

Remember how she assured your fears

Watching the crying without wiping any tears

Why was I not good enough?

I reconjure all the pet names I've called you

Yet I can recall you only calling me by one

Only matter of it was it translated to bad luck

The painful discovery had my sanity run amok

Looked you into your eyes and told confessions

Unknowingly you looked deep into mine

And kept all your secrets alive

By the continuing thread of your lies

Later confirmed I was one of many romansick ties

Standing here numb from verification.....

It hurts but all truth be told

Seeking her warmth left me cold

I was her perfect right now

But never good enough for a vow

Used to be a wordsmith but fear I forgot how

To practice compathy seems listless now.
