Gardenias

Petrichor of Love

During the fading light of day,

I was roaming in a thoughtful way;

When all at once, before my eyes,

A host of Gardenias in the Valley did arise.

Beside the tulips, near the glade,

Their ivory faces gently swayed,

Continuous as the stars above,

They filled my heart with endless love.

Their fragrance, like a heavenly gift,

Upon the air that softly passed adrift,

In the Valley fair, they put up a splendid show,

A picturesque scene that made my spirit glow.

When days were dim and skies were gray,

In vacant mood, my heart would sway,

Admiring and thinking of those blooms so fair,

My soul found solace in that redolent air.

And oft, when dusk adorns the azure sky,

The memory of those gardenias nigh,

In blissful solitude, my heart would soar,

With the nature's beauty to the core.

So though I roamed as a peaceful throng,

The memory of gardenias still stays strong,

Within my heart, forever they'll bloom,

Keeping my away from the everyday gloom.
