Tune: Luckington
('Let all the world in every corner song')
Psalm 6
*************
O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger
I shall ill fare
Neither do chasten me
Look on me, forgive, see
That I penitent be
Come to me, set me free
Chasten me not in you hot displeasure
But grace confer
Have mercy on me, Lord, for I and weak
To you I speak
O Lord, heal me, I pray
My bones are vexed, I say
My soul vexed too it is
But your presence be bliss
Lord, how long? Return, deliver my soul
And make me whole
O save me sure, for your good mercies sake
This plea I make
For in death, remembrance
There be none, be no sense
Of you, and who shall praise
You in grave, your name raise?
I weary be, look on me, my tears see
I saddened be
My eye consumed it is, because of grief
With no relief
It waxes old, my foes
Gather around, each knows
My distress and my woes
A storm of troubles grows
Depart from me, workers iniquitous
Stay far from us
For the Lord has heard voice of my weeping
To Him I sing
And He too, He did hear
My supplication here
He will receive my prayer
Let enemies that stare
On us be ashamed, sore vexed, let it be
E'en suddenly

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 10.4. 6.6.6.6. 10.4. Only 2 verses in the original hymn. A little tricky - long 10 line, then short 4 line of a short phrase; then middle 6.6.6.6.; then long 10 line and short 4 line again. Sounds like bingo!

A lotta vexing going on here!
Good morning dearest Mr O nice work 💖
Thanks Teddy. You vexed over anything?! I am - over KP, and that's a fact! lol.
Being vexed equals wrinkle, that is why I still look like I'm in my 20's lol
a long little tricky would surely make one swoon .. maybe .. perhaps ..
Thanks N. lol.
