OLD FLAME

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

The shadows on my wall create
The pain within my heart retraced
A pony tail and smile remind
Me.....of much better times.

Silence now in thought or sleep
A desk with dust and words too deep
Now remembered I cannot forget
Your heels upon the metal step.

I wanted to but could not weep
For an old flame who walked this street
The news too late to say goodbye
I blow a kiss to Heaven high.

    I so related, dear poet
thanks for sharing these poignant words
hope you are in a better place now..
    ('if cloud's could speak'
    we would be saved
    from their seasonal tearful typhoons
    intrusted to carry
all our whispered regrets and promises
no wonder we recognise the salt
    in those
    pooling seas of rainfall laments...)
