Nap Time

PaperFlowerFields

Nap time, nap time.

No crafts or treats to share.

Nap time, nap time

The googly eyes just stare

Play clay all is crumbled dry.

Spilled tempera and glues

No laughs

No crafts

Just go away

No more sunny hues

No more light

Only night

The light makes us hurt

Grinding grinding gears

Inside my head

Until we can move forward

I must stay here

Don’t you understand?

Happiness and joy bound

Unfortunately to light

No longer found

The children have all left us

Running without delay

But I’m sure

I’m sure

I’m sure!

They’ll be back to play!

No more light

No more, Sun

I’m trying to keep you

Safe from this blight

And out of this fight

I know it hurts

So locked away

But there’s nowhere left here

In this shell

To play

Clean up, clean up!

All we have to do is

Clean up, clean up!

I’m sure the mess is temporary!

I don’t think it’s all that scary!

So why then...

Why does everyone seem wary?

I have glitter glue

And Fizzy Faz!

All this glitter and pizzazz!

We can play games till our heads are droopy!

If only you’d just...come back to me...

The glitter has faded

So have the stars

The Faz doesn’t Fiz

And the Sun remains blinded

Bound to rules that are not grounded

Not anymore, not anymore

I’m left here, soaring

Clouded and lightless

Lifeless grinding...grinding...

No more Sun

Light’s time is done

Let me out, let me out!

We need to prepare!

Its so messy messy!

This isn’t fair!

They said they’d reopen!

They said they’d be back!

We can’t let them see things like this!

Nap time, Sunny

Brother, go back to sleep

Your dreams are sweeter untainted

By the lies they have created

Paint pictures in your mind

Of all the times we had

You’re safe in your dreams

The things can’t reach you there

Nap time...nap time...

This burden only I will bare...
