Desperate prayer

Revernd21

I go down on my knees, pleading to Lord

To hear my prayers, I'm done being ignored

I try to picture Jesus's face

But it's always the devil that takes his place

Calling me to join in his cause

To bring along all the death and chaos

But Lord, I need your light

Though I don't know for how long I can keep up the fight

Evil surrounds me like a blanket

And it seems like everyone I love ends up in a casket

The reverent promising better days

All while singing words of praise

But the memory of their last day is all that replays

And the more I miss them the heavier my heart weighs

Please Lord, don't you see

This ain't where I want to be

Crawling in a pit disparity

This pit driving me to the brink of insanity

I try to close my eyes but my subconscious wants them open

Seeking a new sin to put my hope in

The devil goes after the weak and the broken

I hope the Lord answer the words just spoken

I suppose when we reach the bottom the only way left to go is up.

Thank you for your comment!! Very true statement indeed.

There's a story of a nearly-dead donkey in the desert, I think. They decided to bury it, dug a hole, put donkey in it. Then began to cover donkey with sand. As the sand level rose, so did the donkey rise up in the hole, and somehow rose to life too! This is only patchy details of the story.
