Empty Minded

PrimalHeaven

As my mind slowly empties

Of all thoughts

Words still flow to mind

As I write.

As I scrawl away

I begin to replay the days

Events.

As the reel plays

I laugh until tears spill forth

Reveal the happiness

Hidden within.

As this joy fills me

I decide not to destroy this life

And instead pray

I live.

As life continues

I take pleasure and hope

From this day.

Now, I bid these ideas

Farewell

And sleep my woos away

As I am just...

Empty Minded.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I was contemplating suicide for the second time when I met someone who would be my best friend for 22 years until life's differences separated us. I wrote this after meeting him.
