NO FLOWERS

nephilim56

I lay no flowers
Just stand alone
The graveyard empty
Breeze upon my face
Words on marble
Birdsong from high.

I recall no single thought
Merely stages of life
Looking at stone
A car horn in the distance
Grass that sways
A crow passing low.

I stand alone
A sad smile breaks free
Sweet yet bitter
As is life itself
The graveyard empty
The breeze upon my face.
