In A Perfect World

In my perfect world, we would be together

In your perfect world, most things would be the same

And our relationship would be one of those things

A friendship that won't go any further

 

Your mere presence makes me feel whole

But it also widens the open crevice within my heart

And every time it widens, my pain increases

 

What would our perfect world look like?

We would be dating and our parents would know

We would both have straight A’s and our lives would be great

Our relationship would be secure and loving, gentle and cute

Where we would be able to work out

Any kinks in the relationship with great ease

 

I just hope that in any perfect world out there

Whether it's a combination of ours

Or a different one completely

That we’re together, thriving, happy as one can be
