A Dance of Shadow

Jeffrey Weese

Into the depths of dark I fall, into the earth for good and all.
Forever I live without the light, forever inside and out of sight.

A peer above and give a grin, back to the dark where I live within.
A see the light but once a blue, and return to the black where hearts subdue.

In shadows' embrace, I find my place, buried deep, forever encased.
No sun to kiss, nor stars to trace, only darkness and silence to embrace.

From the abyss, I peer above, a fleeting glimpse, a stolen love.
The world that's bright, a distant hue, I visit briefly, then bid adieu.

For in the void where shadows dwell, a hidden realm where secrets swell,
I find my solace, my quiet reprieve, a sanctuary where my heart believes.

The surface world, a fleeting dream, but in the darkness, my soul redeems.
A cycle of light and dark I spin, forever intertwined, forever within.

Coiled emotion wraps the air, dare not to speak, speak not to compare.
Continued to endless day and year, of dark and light eyes shed a tear.

Circles upon circles and spiriling tight, far above the dimming light.
Reach above yet further crawl, there is no escape, none at all.

Into the dept of dark I live, into the earth for me to give.
Forever I live within the dull, luminous memory fades to null.
