Journey's End

Franchi

The road, full of fear and dread,
But excitement still awaits,
A long and winding path I take,
On this journey, I won't break.

The wind is howling, the rain coming down,
Shadows creeping all around,
The road ahead holds mystery,
All I have to do is just keep moving you see!

Then the sun is setting, the breeze blowing,
The road is long, unknown is the meaning,
The path is lonely, the night is cold,
A journey is to be unfold.

The mind is wandering, the night is young,
The eyes still searching, what cannot be seen,
The road ahead is full of wonder,
A path which we discover.

Now here, I stand by this road,
All alone, the cold horrify,
My soul frozen, my heart broken, my eyes dry,
But yet there is a hope, for I see
A flickering light.
Like a beacon it's calling to me.
Hope? Salvation? The end of the road?
Or just a trick of the night?
