Candlelight Girl

nicky380

When she moves the sun goes with her,
Her playful light flickers making
Dawn glisten with her heartbeat,
A breeze
Carries her mind away,
Scents of clarity drizzling cities like icing on cupcakes,

Falling rain rockets
Her tears devour brittle grass blades
Now they’re flexible and resolute,
Reaching out with mastery
and grace,

Like the wind, her gentle touch is everywhere,
Unseen, Unheard, but present always,
A brush of fine dust on every surface,
That no storm could wash away,

Concrete bureaucrats painted laughing and dancing,
Tired monuments spruced with spontaneity,
Glass and steel transactions and crooked glasses clanking,
Now soaked in joy and harmony,

A Sunflower smile illuminating dormant neurons and streets,
A fear firing in her chest with every breath,
Kind whiskey eyes vanquishing inner battle cries,

Though she sings a note
How beautiful,
The darkness surely never tires,

I'm grateful to spot her elusive flame,
Stumbling to the inspiring light,
When ash and smoke obstruct my sight,

Burning hope as Kharkiv weeps,
While they try to turn and sleep,
This healing siren,
Will whisper them back to their feet.
