When I offered a bed of roses
I didn't mention the thorns
So now as my love dozes
comes the devil with his horns
Love has a bleeding heart
Angel trumpets intoxicating sleep
Forget me not, do not depart
Kiss me over the garden gate, if you wish me to keep

I never knew ya sent me flowers! lol.
Oh you got them then? Thanks Orchi
Beware of lover's bearing roses? This is tantalizingly delicious dear poet!
Thanks Bella for the review and the comment. So appreciate you coming by.
'When I offered a bed of roses
I didn't mention the thorns'
these words hit home, dear Poet
(I bought gardening gloves
for my heart, but still
it never seems to be enough
to keep the shrapnel
of belated regret from clustering
my mind and stifling
my lungs, capacity to hope...)
whatever side of blame we seat
we're each left contemplating
our what if's..
Thanks L.B. your remarks always provoke more thoughts and are cherished.
