Like a curious child

E Naughton

Like a curious child placing a paper raft on the river,

I watch it,

From a distance, of course,

Standing to close can be dangerous,

Not knowing how long it might stay or at what speed,

knowing there is no why, but that it simply is,

The raft with captain and crew,

With nay sayers, murderers good people too,

The raft floats on by there's nothing to do

But wave from the banks as life passes through.

Sometimes we all stand and just watch, rather than be participants. The flow and rhyme are very good in this, as is the imagery therein.
