Lately

Man With No Name

We were just kids back then

When I realised I may never see you again

But after all these years

Felt your shadow reaching out to me from yesterday

It all felt so surreal

Until I stepped into your light, for a while to stay

I asked around and I asked a lot

But all that I ever got

Were more unquestioned answers than I thought

My heart raced and my palms sweat

I didn't want to run and yet I couldn't rest

Couldn't sleep, no matter how much I dreamt

Now that you have found me

I never felt so lost

Lost in reveries all day

And all the stories you've got

Under the shadow of the moon

We talked about the better days that are to come soon

While drinking the crimson wine off the twilight

And then drenched in the fire that rained that night

We can keep that fire burning

All that it needs is a bit of yearning

As I sit in my room, all by myself

Sifting through the memories off a dusty shelf

I realised that once again, I've become that kid lately

Who used to play along with you the game of lock & key
