I Didn't Sign Up For This!

E Naughton

My pieces falling from above,

Much like those of anyone's,

The shared experience of shapes unknown,

I will fit what I can,

As will you,

Before it's too late,

Stacking,

Higher,

As there is no other way,

Grateful for those that fit,

Knowing soon unwelcome pieces will fall,

Piling high on my perfect patch,

Unwilling at first,

But we will all know an ill fitting piece at some point,

I didn't sign up to this!

Experience it I will,

As we all do,

Unwanted sounds will be heard,

Louder!

Some pieces fall faster,

Almost impossible,

Harder than mine for sure,

Stacking higher and higher,

Until that final misshapen piece,

Presents to you the a once in a lifetime experience not to be shared.
