The Dreamer

All_thethingsishouldofsaid

She was taught to live

And even though life can get you down

She was taught to dream,

Your dreams are as big or small as you want them to be, the goal is to dream enough to be free.

Seek shelter in the arms of somebody who truly cares. Someone who pushes you to dream, who supports you, even in the moments hope is nowhere to be seen.

Fall in love with the kind of girl who hands you her change when you’ve left your wallet at home,

the kind of girl who makes the smallest of moments seem like your greatest adventure.

You feel like home,

A home where I look, to cast away all the doubts I ever had.

I do not know of all your dreams, your hopes, your aspirations.

But I know the feeling, to fall, to fly, and to fall again.

She was my soul, my heart, my life. The moment I heard her laugh, I knew I wanted to share our dreams and build a better world together.

Pinpoint that moment,

That changed your course, but never your heart,

Harness those feelings, and use it for greatness.

She loves harder than anyone I know. She is the warmth of the fire when nights are cold.

She is the person you want by your side, together as you grow and build towards the future.

I hope that when you fall, you rise again and find your feet,

I hope you know that you are worth every step that you take on the road either together or alone.

Fill your life with people who push you to challenge yourself,

People who motivate you to keep going forward.

These people are important to you and worth keeping in your life.

I think of what we could be together as one,

And what I know more than ever though is that my soul grows and changes,

Moving forward with every step I take in my life.

Most people struggling, trying to understand themselves and not realising that the things you want to achieve are yours for the taking.

We always remember the ones who hurt us,

Perhaps instead we should remember the ones who helped us even when they aren't around anymore, maybe because life got in the way, or reasons out of our control meant we only had brief moments in time together.

Remember how they made us feel, made us grow and shaped us in our continuing journey and take that with you every step you take and in everything you do.

Don't use things as a distraction, or even somebody to forget her or the hurt you feel,

Memories are what makes us stronger,

You need to feel all of it, in order to grow.

I've always been afraid of change, but now I'm spreading my wings and flying towards the unknown and towards new horizons.,

And I've never been further away from the person I once was.

We all chase our dreams and hopes of love,

Look for me at the end of the road,

Listen to my heart beating your name,

Listen to my words when I promise you that you deserve to love and be loved again and everything else in-between.

I would follow you, through the dark to any place,

In the times I felt most alone, like moment in time had frozen,

Dreaming of being somewhere else, someone else.

And if I spent all these moments wishing and hoping for everything I deserve,

Would I still be awake?

Are you really thinking of them or being with someone so you don't feel alone?

I could lie and tell you it will all be okay but I owe it to ourselves to speak the truth,

Life is catching your breath after laughing so hard your sides hurt,

Its forgiving yourself and them when relationships break, its dancing in the rain, it's keeping the promises you made.

Its dreaming big and living small moments and cherishing these,

It's remembering the things that make your heart want to burst out of your chest and forgetting the things that keep you up at night.

You achieve all these by facing your fears.
