Lost at Sea

kzsparadise

I saw the sea in your eyes, inviting and blue

You held out your hand and told me I would be safe with you

So I leapt out into your arms

And started this journey with an open heart

I didn’t know the danger that lie up ahead

I didn’t know the storm that you were leading me into instead

What once was calmness and still water

A sea of endless love that would go on forever

Turned dangerous and dark

Thrashing and crashing waves against my exposed heart

I reached for you but you turned away

A decision which seemed so easily made

I started to sink into the deep blue sea

Fully engulfed, I could not breath

Drowning in tears of sorrow and heartache

I can not let this storm become my biggest mistake

I fought the rain and conquered the waves

Time passed as minutes turned to hours which turned into days

The water rolled in and back out off the beach

A solid foundation I finally reached

A new beginning, a new start

A time to rebuild my hurting heart
