Falling

sorenbarrett

The future, such a perilous decent

there is no return from the abyss

a fall from birth, to life's mist below

Placental security I miss

Past the point of no return

I teeter back into the chasm

At the balancing point of equilibrium

ledge slick, grip slipping, a spasm

A sense of falling in my gut

back arched, head thrown back to the sky

arms flailing, a sense of sailing

all this with me soon will die

I emit a single tear

desperate, at anything I clasp

I belch out a cry of fear

I clutch at hope, but only air I gasp

The fall will do no harm

wind rushes past as I drop

I try to turn to see what's ahead

The danger is in the sudden stop

Dear Sorenbarrett, what a fall it is, I have a recurring dream like this, yet I always wake up before I hit the floor, you just spooked me out lol what fabulous lines so dramatic and so very believable 💖

Always falling forward into the future dear friend, sometimes falling backward into the past. Thanks for the read Orchi.
