Being grateful when ill

Holly Anne

There is nothing worse

than being a nurse

whom is misfortunate enough

to end up in hospital

overwhelmed, holding back tears

in urge of her mothers love and hugs

feeling like a spear is lingering in their chest

not wanting to be a pest

when she begins to reflect

one must be grateful for the resources in their country

of residence

some people in this modern age don't even have the basic needs to survive

not a mind to feel alive.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This was written when I had pneumonia. Living in Australia and missing my mother and sisters at that time. My mother and two sisters were in Ireland and another of my sisters was in Canada. Going to hospital as a patient and not for work is something I did not like, I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'m sure those in the medical profession and people who dislike hospitals can relate.
