Introverted Sage

When I close my eyes I see you.
I have felt your every sorrow
as if it were my own.
I breathe with you, when silence is what you need.
Never having to part your lips, your eyes tell me everything you're afraid to say.
I see behind your heart.
I feel your storms on my skin.
When you're lost inside your head, trying to work out every detail.
Your tepid pulsings tell me when to hold you and cool your fire.

When you feel alone in the world, you've always had me - even when we're apart.
Every tear shed - I taste in my heart.
I bleed for you - because I know the battles you have fought.
When the pain comes, inside I carry you and continue your walk.
Tandem or hand in hand. Neighbors or distant land.
You're never alone. I know just how to make you feel me.
Next to you, inside you, completely.

Your whole life - you've known I was there.
With you always.
I've been there. Right there with you.

Feared me your entire life, yet I see you - and you know.
In the shadows - as you close your eyes. Behind the mirror - under the bed.
I Am You. I Am your life. I Am in your head.
Who do you think I Am - that you fear me yet know in your heart you need me.
Your incessant fear of being seen keeps me from you fully.
I know you better than you know yourself and you deny me with all of your might.
Let me move you.

Take a carriage ride for a change.
Let me hold your hand on this journey.
Humans require connection. - Don't fear what you feel.
Deep inside - you know I have been with you for eternity.
You can't hide from what we have.
No person, passion or poison could ever stop that.
This connection we have scares you - only because you fear
what we can do together.
Are you afraid of your own power or the power of connecting with another.
Fully.

Taking you to see my way isn't necessary.
You want it. Deep down. Accepted.
Ssshhhaking with the press of a button.
Marionette shoes pitter patter like a school child.
Waves of tears knowing; not sadness.
Love was all you ever needed.
