Ice

peto

A songbird flapping lost it's tune

Anarchic tides ignore the moon

Tries cooking up without a spoon

His solid tears of ice

A mountain top without a peak

A linguist struggling to speak

Sad eyes have sprung constant leak

His solid tears of ice

The winds of change remain the same

He'll find someone to take the blame

An architect his house of shame

His solid tears of ice

A broken unforgiving heart

A horse lagging behind the cart

Another race lost at the start

His solid tears of ice

Her touch brought warmth to frozen skin

A tonic mixed with bitter gin

His resurrected toothless grin

She melts his tears of ice

Some beautiful words in this I liked reading your poem 🙂

So much in your writing .. speaks to me of how sometimes things are just wrong and not the way their meant to be .. there’s something missing which should be there

      ‘ A mountain top without a peak
A linguist struggling to speak ‘

So the ‘toothless grinned’ man did not meet the same faith as your ‘songbird’ You created the icy environment consistently and succinctly! I may even sip on a tonic and ‘bitter’ gin to your health and to a fine write!
