In this sacred space
Where the tide meets the sea grass and the pink thrift
The clouds embrace the cliff path

The sacred space of the land where I was born and my first sight was opened and magic found me

The same rocks I washed with my hands as a child and washed with my tears after my childhood  was gone

In this sacred space I tried to forget I loved you because the sky is big and I am small

But you were there in the tide and the thrift and you were the rocks that sheltered me

Before your time began you were the salt water I poured joyfully on the pebbles on stormy days and the spray coming from the sea
The innocence of nature before I understood the danger

In this sacred space you are here
and my love for you does not go out with the tide because it is everything and everywhere -
It's all I see.
