Chances

Tayama

In the quiet moment of the morning when the last one leaves…

The memories of who is gone, and who left willingly will haunt my soul…as the emptiness seeps in…

As the day calls me to begin, and when tomorrow returns with the sadness of a life nearing completion yet again…

That to yearn for who has left denies all that chose to remain…now…

Love them ever harder for they might have to leave to…

And then tomorrow once again, there will only be you…

To not cherish the ones that you love, and that love you in the moment of a life, is a life unfulfilled…

Why do we waste what we know to be a gift?

For we forget that in the absolute stillness of our moments, we see only what we want to see…

And never see what we are…alive and the immeasurable beauty and privilege of that gift.

Before you close your eyes tonight, tell the ones that still need you...I love you.

For like love, the occasions to tell them that you do...fade and leave to.
