Rented Night Stars

semi-deadpoet

Standing atop a motel ceiling

Watching all the stars collide,

Wishing for a star to fall,

Wondering if I should give my parents a call...

I lay on that rocky motel ceiling,

And wonder if I'm something worth seeing.

Just like when I see galaxies;

I wonder if I'm something worth being searched.

I'm on a lonely motel ceiling -

My bones cold and my clothes soaked.

I let the rain wash away my pain

Of pretending the stars ever remembered my name.
