Where No Light Came

aDarkerMind

where no light came

the limping palm of sunset lost

bemused as I

a stranger to the vacant cries of spring.

worm-fed as corn and foe alike

three strikes the mule in horsebox

with dovetails hanging bright

my pound of flesh;

where no sun breaks

walks hungry wives to waters of the dam

home to heart. to broken bones of homage.

churchyard turns it's weary eye

to the shadowed lung

where honesty meets grief and grieves alone;

where no sun breaks

stands only salt and thunder;

where no life gives

no spine can kiss and sew it's insects dry;

how many times their eyes cried dry a sorrow?

where no mankind

no more the flower turns and bites it's tongue;
