Molester of Chester

AuburnScribbler

That girl next door, could not care,

she had Amelia Dyer’s ghost in there,

like an anaconda, she did squeeze,

the lives, out of all those babies,

in three years, she became a reaper,

upon the ward, a silent creeper,

hope in bottles, her chosen tools,

to transform into something cruel,

cylindrical malice, betrayed the trust,

but some who saw, were told to hush,

giving more time, for her to slither,

to make the paediatrics shiver,

thus, loose safeguarding, muted cries,

prolonging a monster, with fair eyes,

who made a clinic, a killing field,

where the newborns, had no shield,

with what she was, you spelt it wrong,

not a nurse, a curse, that was too strong,

for those seven, who dwell in urns,

no such closure, as families yearn,

six, and four thousand more,

could have been slain, upon the floor,

a sick desire, only she could live,

this walking, talking sedative,

let she be called: “Molester of Chester”,

where in a cell, she’ll begin to fester,

but please keep watch, diligent scout,

can’t have her, taking the easy way out.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Lucy Letby, has now become the new face of evil in the UK. A paediatric nurse, who killed seven babies, and nearly six more. Also, according to certain charts, over her career, she could have be responsible for the wellbeing of four thousand newborns. Here is my poetic shaming of her, that I felt compelled to write, in seven stanzas, each one representing, the lost life of a defenseless child. No picture, or banner picture, as her actions have made such a void of emptiness. I hope that all is well, and please do stay safe everyone.

How such an abberation of a human being can exist is beyond comprehension. What can corrupt a mind so, that it carries out such diabolical acts? It is heart wrenching to think of all that those parents have suffered, and will live with forever. A very powerful write for a difficult subject, and so well done dear friend.

Thanks for the read Bella and for your very understanding comments.

I had to be careful with this one, not to be overindulgent in my personal reaction, but it is such a sad sorry story! Like you, my thoughts go out to all the families concerned, to which, a gap will never be filled.

What "she" did, were horrible deeds, but alas, in this modern world, where mankind chooses to continue with it's divisions and dissatisfactions, there will be more and more reasons to kill.

Though a monster is now behind bars, a system that leaves a lot to be desired remains to run free, in this case, the NHS management needs to be recalled!

Thanks again for your kind words, and I hope that all is well.

Impossible to truly get one's head around.
Last two lines - neat argument against capital punishment, worth your effort for that alone.
      You stay safe too.

Thanks for the read Doggerel Dave, and yeah, unimaginable to believe this happened, but the sad reality, is that it unfortunately did.

I do agree with your comment, regarding the death penalty, it would have been so easy to go along with a "lynch-mob mentality" with "her", but the true punishment for "her", will be to live with herself, for the rest of her life.

Thanks again for your kind words, and I hope all is well.

Some harm will probably come to her in prison, causing cries of 'hooray!' from many.

        • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read orchidee, and for your comment.

Though the content within it, may be wishful thinking, as, unfortunately, for the safety of the prison staff and prisoners, and to ensure no major riots happen, it's most likely "she" will be isolated and of course labeled N.O.N.C.E (Not On Normal Courtyard Exercise.) Nevertheless, there will be fellow parents on both sides of the bars in there, so a bit of "physical education", could definitely occur.

May the rest of her life, be a mirror she cannot ignore.

I hope that all is well.

These things work out, or balance out, somehow, I feel. Though it's bad people doing bad things to other bad people in prisons. I suppose it's part of some sort of justice.
