International Senior's Day

NafisaSB

Old is gold

So I’ve been told

And the facts do blend

When one thinks of a friend

Seniors are well into their prime

And therefore make best use of time

They now have the courage to do and dare

Their multi-tasking skills are beyond compare

May they find time to do what they want

May no unpleasant dreams ever haunt

I wish that life treats them in a way that’s fair

I wish them health, and family that care.

So today on ‘International Senior’s Day

I, to my Lord, do humbly pray

May they continue to have lots of fun

And also guide and teach the young ones.

I get your message and, to a certain extent applaud its intent.
However, Nafisa I'd just like to point out that seniors aren't a special class and as a group should not be accorded special reverence. They are just the usual mix of humanity - good bad and indifferent, who have been around polluting the earth for longer than their unfortunately shorter lived co conspirators.........

as a senior i feel it's time to give some hope and confidence to the seniors as the younger generation tends to get impatient, and often rude to them, and some go into depression.- have seen this happening in our society, hence trying to boost their feelings and ego
but yes they are not special - they have just been around longer, .
yes, everyone should be accorded similar treatment. unfortunately some are treated as part of the furniture.
anyways, am off for a short holiday - will reply to your response, if any, when back. tc.

Those younger who get impatient with some member of the older gen is probably just like meeting like.
I don't feel discriminated because of my age - someone rude to be gets a return in kind - like meeting like.
        Have a good holiday.
