The Dead of Night

Ajon4wheels

Ears full of silence, time to breathe

In the early dark mornings, alone wide awake

Peacefulness surrounds me

Hair of my skin is up waiting until dawn breaks

Breathing the air that’s untouched, feels free

It seems like the world has gone to bed

Quiet, black, peaceful and nothing to see

Just like me, inhaling nothing to dread

My body is tingling in this dark magic

Awake in the dead of night

Enjoying the earth’s dark trick

Stinging my nostrils

with the coolness

giving me chills,

in this stillness.
