Fighting Feelings

There are days I feel numb

I don't say a word like I'm dumb

I just want to be left alone

As my feelings hover like a drone

 

I want to stay under my covers

I just don't want to be bothered

I need to sort out some things

The kind of things that emotions bring

 

It's just I feel at times tied down

Having to keeps my feeling bound

For others it may seem over the top

So I have to control or even stop

 

I always have to rein in how I feel

So those around me wouldn't repeal

At times it can be hard for me

That it makes me feel so very cranky

 

I have to clear things in my head

Before words can be said

Some feelings I have to keep to myself

Stacked away on the highest shelf
