Beans

GillyFitz

Unctuous, umber globules of paste

Savour the texture, savour the taste

From the moment the lid is removed from the can

Releasing an avalanche into the pan

The soft sucking squelch as the broiling absorbs

Warming the core of tomatoey orbs

Crisp toast is waiting to welcome the streams

Of delectable, flavoursome, beautiful, beans

  • Comment from author about the poem: One of a collection of food based poems written for children. I love writing poems for kids, I like choosing words to make them ask questions and choosing topics and themes with which they are familiar and can relate to. This is one of several \\\"bean\\\" related poems.
