Silence

Nicky

Somehow, silence speaks more than words.

Sometimes it's peaceful, sometimes it's not.

Sometimes it is the calm before the storm

And sometimes, it is the answer to the war.

But silence- it speaks the heaviest words of them all.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is a poem I got inspired while reading a very sad poem by Sherly Toulson called \\\"A Photograph\\\". I was able to feel the emotions when she said the line \\\'It\\\'s silence silences\\\'. As a girl who loves going out and enjoying and being around people and also just be by herself engrossed in a book, I\\\'ve found silence as a solace and a bother. It\\\'s funny how something which speaks nothing at all can speak more than what a dictionary full of words can.

My comments on the poem "Silenceā€ by Nicky
Silence is a terrible opponent. There is no way you can answer back, except by making noise. But, this might not be possible in all situations. Silence nags you and drains you of all strength. Over time it even messes up with your sanity. It wages psychological war against you. Soman Ragavan. 29 August, 2023. //

It is either your worst enemy, or your greatest ally. It either makes you the strongest or breaks you into pieces.

Silence, like no action, can be the greatest effort and war winning motion. Wonderfully expressed.
