It Is About Time

duggantherhymer

It is true about time that it does not stand still
It has been many years since I last saw Clara hill
Close to four decades past my physical prime
Eventually we all become victims of time

Only the memories today does remain
Of faces and places I will not see again
Some I went to school with where the deceased are does lay
And some from Duhallow ageing far away

And some in the home barony choose to stay
And are looking their years the grandparents of  today
We all have our journeys in life for to make
And we learn as we live from our every mistake

For what used to be I have shed my last tears
And I only have memories of the long gone years
Many of my friends of the past today I may not recognize
Physical appearance does change with age one does come to realize

At midnight this evening today will have gone
And as is said of time it does tick on and on
And as the wise mother said to her young son
Tomorrow will dawn but not for everyone.
